Choose a money-back bet for PSG v Chelsea
Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc was criticized last year for his conservative tactics against English Premier League side Chelsea during the second leg of their European Champions League quarterfinal match after winning the first leg 3-1. He gets a chance to rectify that as the two teams meet again this Tuesday, Feb. 17th at the Parc des Princes in Paris.
Blanc is hoping that midfielder Blaise Matuidi, midfielder Yohan Cabaye, winger Lucas, center half Lucas and fullback Sergie Aurier will all be ready to play after injuries struck them in their 2-2 home draw against Caen last weekend. Matuidi is doubtful, but Javier Pastore could return. Chelsea will be counting on Spanish international striker Diego Costa for goals as he has 17 in 19 Premier League matches. PSG’s biggest threat as always is Swedish international striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
If Matuidi can’t play, then Blanc may have to use 19-year-old Adrien Rabiot. He has limited experience in the Champions League and could be exposed by Chelsea’s midfielders such as Cesc Fabregas and Oscar. Chelsea enters the match as the leaders of the Premier League and they had a break last weekend as the English FA Cup took over centre stage. PSG sits in third place in Ligue 1, but are just two back of league-leading Lyon.
