Chelsea 6/1 v Southampton or money back

Chelsea went crashing out of the European Champions League on Wednesday with a brutal performance in a 2-2 home draw against Paris Saint Germain, but now has the chance to make amends with a home match against seventh-place Southampton on Sunday, March 15. The league leaders enter the game with a five-point lead over second-place Manchester City and also have two games in hand. Southampton also needs the three points to keep their hopes of a top-four finish alive and a berth in the Champions League next season.

Chelsea has already won the League Cup this season and the only other silverware they can now capture is the Premier League title and they’re definitely in the driver’s seat with Burnley upsetting Manchester City 1-0 on March 14 at Turf Moor. Southampton enters the weekend just four points behind fourth-place Manchester United, but can’t afford to drop at more points with 11 matches remaining in the season.

Chelsea will likely be without the services of midfielder John Obi Mikel, but other than that the side appears to be healthy. For Southampton, Jay Rodriguez is still out of action with a torn ACL and will probably miss the entire campaign. However, manager Ronald Koeman’s side is relatively healthy for this contest, which will be the 84th encounter between the teams in all competitions. Chelsea leads the series with 37 wins to 23 with the other 23 being draws. The last time Southampton won at Stamford Bridge was back in the 2001/02 season.

Sportsbook Coral is offering a special promotion for this match to its new customers.
